This is the second full album by Sursis, Larry Barin’s project.
And this album, just like the previous one, is made of songs precariously recorded only.
Larry Barin is Lauro Zanin, he used to play in the Barins.
Barins had to split up just because of Larry’s age. He was 13 years old and no pub landlords in Brighton wanted him to stay on their premises, so Barins wasn’t able to perform, even if Walden Barin, another member of the group, was Larry’s father!
Anyway, after Barins split up, Larry began composing and recording.
All the songs here were recorded at home by himself, some of them with a little help from Walden.
The idea of a sampler release came to me when I started to receive messages from blogs wanting records from me for reviewing.
As this label is really DIY, that is with very limited resources, I absolutely can't send out many records for free, that's why OB/W's promotion unfortunately is almost inexistent...
With a sampler this problem can be, if not resolved, at least minimized.
And now everybody can enjoy another compilation as well.
Sampler, the album, compiles all OB/W's trajectory up to now. It includes even songs from upcoming releases, and a bonus track, previously unreleased (and probably never to be properly released, hehe).
So when you're gonna read a review about O Bosque / Woodland, it will probably talk about this album here.

First active from about 1995 to 2000, and now back again, like a bird returning from the south, sonic shoegazers Thunder Bunny from New Jersey recorded an incredible lot of songs.
Thunder Bunny's recent output's really impressive, take a look:
Demons on Edition 59 recs, My love, thou art a monster on Spanner recs, In a perfect world on Workerbee records, and The Other Children Of This Quickly Passing Winter on OB/W later next month.
And they're getting good reviews as well, from guys like indiemp3couk.wordpress.com, headunderwater.com, raamb-recordings.co.uk.
Yeah, I am moving home again.
As from the 17th May I will be without internet connection for about 3 weeks, unfortunately. That's what it seemingly will take them to transfer it to my new home...
I will try to reply important messages using the iPhone anyway.
Take care you all.
Cheers, ciao!

Woodland European Tour 2010 was conceived during Zanin's Magic Crayon North American Tour 2009. The idea is basically unite a road trip to a musical tour, avidly questing - both musically and more, and strictly following a DIY ethos.
Zanin's Magic Crayon and In Cases will play all the shows of the tour. The Argyle Wishlist will participate from the 23rd to the 28th July. http://www.myspace.com/bosquewoodland bosquewoodland@googlemail.com
Brazilian indiepop pioneers Magic Crayon's frontman, Cesar Zanin, was invited to play in the USA in 2009 and in order to concretize a road trip of a lifetime, combined it to a 13-date tour; creating a project mixing in a pocket way indiepop, electronica, bossa, kraut, dub and shoegaze. http://www.myspace.com/zaninsmc
In Cases is a band formed in Brighton and Hove, UK, by 3 friends (ex Barins, that lofi freethinking emigrants group) from different countries (Slovakia, Brazil and Italy), in 2009. They make experimental-pop music. http://www.myspace.com/incases
The Argyle Wishlist is a reverb-loving Indie Pop band based in Wisconsin, USA. The group began in 2004 as the solo project of Jesse Bell but after a dozen various releases has grown to a three piece. http://www.myspace.com/theargylewishlist
